Meet Dr.Sherry Barnett

Board Certified Allergist

I was diagnosed with asthma & eczema as an infant and spent most of my childhood in the Allergist’s and ENT’s office. As a child, I wanted to be a veterinarian but unfortunately was highly allergic to most animals. When it came time to decide on a career path in college I took a leap of faith and decided to become a doctor even without having any doctors in my family.  After clinical rotations in medical school, it became clear that I was destined to be an Allergy/Asthma specialist.  While it was a long road getting there, I’ve been so blessed in my career as an Allergist that I can’t imagine doing anything else.  I’ve personally been the one in the ER room unable to breathe, the one getting allergy shots for years on end and the one having to remember to take my inhaler twice a day. This gives me a unique perspective and empathy for my patients and the struggles their families experience in managing allergic conditions.

I’ve lived in Flower Mound since 2008 and love this community.  I am a covenant member of The Village Church. I am married and have a son in elementary school and 2 stepdaughters in middle school.  I enjoy baking and tending to my small farm in Wise County when I’m not working. I am so excited to have the opportunity to continue serving the Flower Mound and southern Denton County area at Barnett Allergy Asthma Center.

Meet Leila Burch, PA-C

My name is Leila Burch. I have lived in the DFW area since 2009 alongside my husband and two children. I attended my undergraduate studies at UT Austin and then completed my master’s degree at UT Southwestern. Since 2012, I have enjoyed being a physician assistant primarily in the allergy, asthma, and immunology field. I am very passionate about what I do and most especially about being an advocate for my patients. As someone who has had family members that have experienced allergies, asthma, sinus disease, and chronic hives I am personally aware of the effects these conditions can have on the quality of life and strive to help my patients find solutions for their health conditions and questions.

In my free time I am an avid reader, and I love to travel. My husband and I are passionate about getting out into nature and we love taking trips where we can share that with our children. If I were to have any career that was not in the medical field, I
would almost certainly work with animals as they are one of my great loves in life.

I am honored to serve you, a friend, or family member in need of care and management
of your allergic conditions.
